EMBODIED Art + HEALTH Initiative
A Dialogue at the intersection of Art, HEALTH, MEDICINE, and EMBODIED DIFFERENCE
We have launched our new Embodied Arts + Health initiative focusing on the intersection of arts, health, medicine, experiences with embodied difference. Our objective with this project is to start a dialogue between artists, healthcare practitioners, scholars, and members of disability and d/Deaf communities. The initiative explores two interconnected strands. One focuses on care-centered models in which the arts are integrated into clinical, therapeutic, and community health settings—approaches that use creative practice to support well-being, connection, and resilience. The other considers how sustained engagement with ideas of health, care, and well-being shapes artistic practice itself, influencing content, storytelling, structure, and aesthetic forms. These perspectives will converge in events that include an upcoming symposium at the Citizen Arts International Festival to arts programming throughout the year.
More information on our festival symposium as well as upcoming programming will be available soon.
